Everyone needs an outlet when they are feeling a little blue. For me, it’s songwriting. A friend helped me with this one, and I wrote it a few years ago when I was feeling down. This song just flowed, and I wrote it in just a few minutes.
It’s about the sort of imbalanced love that makes one person willing to do anything for the other. Only to realize that they are easily discarded by the person they are devoted to.
Said you were staying home, so I stayed in bed
Said you were ready to go, so I got up and ran
When you need some time, I’ll drive around the block
When you run out of breath, I’ll slow down to walk
Cuz I know I’d follow you right off the edge
Now you’re cutting me loose like a stray thread

I love to write songs about love and the loss of love. I’m inspired by my life experience and other people’s stories and journeys, like those of my friends. Sometimes, I’m even inspired by fictional characters!
